A Glimpse of His Glory

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end. Lam. 3:22 ESV

As fall creeps closer to winter, there are more and more cloudy days. One particularly gloomy day full of rain, I noticed the tree line outside my window seemed dull. The leaves were heavy with rain and appeared brown rather than the beautiful reds I had grown accustomed to enjoying. Honestly, it was a bit depressing. I struggle with depression and winter months are always harder for me.

However, I awoke the next morning to find a different picture. As I looked out the window, I saw one patch of brighter yellows and oranges. It lifted my spirit instantly as I smiled and realized I was seeing a glimpse of God’s glory in creation. When everything around me seems dull or full of struggles, God is still with me. He reminded me that even when I mess up and feel like I have let him down, he never leaves me. He gives me another day, full of hope and his love. I simply need to open my eyes to see it.

God has a vivid imagination and reveals his glory in many ways and places. He can be found in the beauty and sounds of nature, a kind word from a friend, a smile from a stranger, a song or other shared piece of art, and sometimes in a still small voice. Open your eyes and ears and seek a glimpse of his glory everywhere you look today.

Blessings,

Kathryn
