A Saturday Psalm

,

Psalm 139:13-14 ESV

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

What an awesome revelation to know that I was created by God. Not simply created but designed. He knitted me together. He put each piece of my genetic make up in place. He chose my hair color, skin tone, eye color, and height.

God intricately designed each of us. I am uniquely me and you are uniquely you, by God’s design. We may see our doppelganger (someone that looks similar to us) or meet someone with the same exact name in our life. But they are not us. There is something unique about them, as there is something unique about each of us. Even twins are not identical, though some very much alike.

How do we respond to this revelation? We respond with praise! This passage tells us that God’s works are wonderful, and we are one of God’s works. Simply put; we are wonderful! My response is with a hearty thank you and all the praise this body can offer up. I sing, pray, and dance my praises to the Lord. How do you praise God?

Blessings,

Kathryn
